Audio Cleanup

Remove Crowd Noise from Concert Recordings

Fancams and concert clips always pick up the screaming fans around you. KROMA analyzes your recording, finds the crowd, and lets you pull it down to zero — so the performance comes through clean.

How it works

  1. 1

    Drop in your recording

Audio (WAV/MP3) or video (MP4/MOV/M4V) straight from your phone — no install, works in the browser.

  2. 2

    Analyze the sounds

KROMA identifies which sounds are actually in your file — crowd, applause, whistling, speech — plus the vocals and instruments.

  3. 3

    Pull the crowd down

Each detected sound gets its own fader. Mute the crowd entirely, or keep a little ambience at −12 dB so it still feels live.

  4. 4

    Download the clean mix

Get your processed file back — video is remuxed with the new audio so the picture stays untouched.

Purpose-built for live recordings

Generic noise reduction treats a concert audience as "noise" to smooth over — and smears the music with it. KROMA takes a different route: a dedicated model trained specifically on concert crowd noise isolates the audience as its own layer, separate from the stage sound.

That separation is what makes selective removal possible. Instead of a single "denoise" knob, you get a fader per detected sound — crowd down to zero, applause kept for the song endings, whistling gone entirely. Your call, per sound.

More than just the crowd

The same analysis finds the other things a phone mic picks up at a show — people talking next to you, laughter, whistling, PA hum. If it's in the recording, it shows up as its own track you can mute or rebalance.

And because the separation is stem-aware, you can also rebalance the music itself: bring the singer forward, tame an overpowering bass rig, or keep just the vocals for an acapella of the live performance.

Video files welcome

Drop the MP4 straight from your phone — KROMA processes the audio and remuxes it back into the video. No transcoding the picture, no separate audio extraction step. Clips up to 5 minutes / 500 MB on the Producer plan.

Questions

Can it remove screaming fans from a fancam?

Yes — that's exactly what the crowd track is for. Analysis detects the audience layer (cheering, screaming, chatter) and you pull its fader to zero. Sustained screaming mixed right on top of the vocal may leave slight residue, but the crowd energy drops dramatically.

Will it damage the actual performance?

The performer and the crowd occupy different spectral space, and the separation model was trained specifically on concert audiences — so the stage sound stays intact. You can also keep the crowd at a low level (−12 to −18 dB) instead of fully muting it for a natural 'taped from the floor' feel.

Does it work on video files?

Yes. Upload MP4, MOV, or M4V and you get the video back with cleaned audio remuxed — the picture is not re-compressed.

What else can it remove?

Applause, speech, laughter, whistling, wind, rain, traffic, sirens, electrical hum, birds, insects, and dogs — anything the analysis detects appears as its own adjustable track.
